“I am innocent. I was framed!”

Those were my brother’s words when he got in line at Calgary’s impound lot. (And I laughed hard.) Just walking in the door of that place makes you feel like a criminal. The poor guy. It’s my fault his SUV was towed from one of the city’s Late Night Ride Home Stands on 17th Ave., which go into effect at 10 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. I told him he could park in front of the Ship and Anchor but that we’d have to remember to move the SUV after our dinner at Model Milk, on the way to National. But then I forgot. It was towed. He had to pay $160 to bust it loose.

The take-away message is this: don’t mess around with the guys who run those late night stands. They will tow your sh*t.
